Here is the standardized guide. If we can fix it we will, if we can’t we’ll ask you to re-format on your end and send it again.
-.odt or .doc format. .docx is also acceptable
– Arial Font, Size 12
– No indents
– Single line between paragraphs and dialogue
– no headers or footers
– no page numbers
– Black ink ONLY
– do not include your name on each page
-Don’t get fancy with the * sign. If you put that in your document three times in a row Bloody Mary appears… not really, but it might be preferably to what actually happens.
-Same with bullets. Use them if you must but they are annoying. I know some computers decide to use them whether you want it to or not *glares at laptop*
The bottom line with these rules is very easy: Keep it simple. If you make a mistake like double spacing it’s not a big deal for us to fix ditto with font etc. It’s when people get fancy with colors, headers, footers etc that we have a hard time.
We generally accept most formats although we prefer .odt and .doc files. If you have any questions about these guidelines or need a hand just message (preferably below in case someone has the exact same question
